Creative writing is my forte, conceptualizing unique and interesting thoughts into tangible, measurable outreach campaigns is right in my wheelhouse. Communicating abstract ideas and visions appropriately is what separates a generic plan from one that ultimately compels an audience to take action and share in your passion, and I love that.

COGA Media Statements
Colorado is a special place and we are so fortunate to live and work here. As you will see in this year's Community Impact Report, our members work hard every day to make Colorado an even better place to call home.

The ethics of our industry aligns with values that all Coloradans share – clean air and clean water, safe schools and communities, strong families, and protecting the beautiful state that this vital industry has called home since the 1800s.

Ideas for the future should always be informed by the past. Humans began to meaningfully impact the environment roughly 10,000 years ago with the advent of agriculture. Just as improvements in agricultural methods have dramatically increased the productivity of each acre farmed, we are also making tremendous progress in both the efficiency of energy consumption and in reducing greenhouse gases. However, our world population continues to grow and we continue to demand more energy to power our iPhones, our computers, TVs, cars, and homes, just to name a few. We also can’t forget about the more than 1 billion people across the globe who don’t yet have access to reliable and affordable energy. As they get access to the electricity and energy that they need, it increases per capita energy consumption and outstrips the reductions in CO2 emissions in the developed world. This dual concern must be faced: addressing global climate change while not ignoring those who suffer from energy poverty. That is an incredibly difficult challenge, and we will only overcome that challenge by working together.

Whatever changes and obstacles we face as a global community in the future, we hope that they are approached through a balanced lens that recognizes the need to energize the lives of those struggling to access affordable energy, while also responding to climate change and powering a broader economy.

Although we always hear the loudest voices in the media and on Twitter fighting and disagreeing on the ways to address climate change and our future, we can all agree that we need to care for our shared planet.
